This Isn't Tech. It's Just Connecting the Dots.

This Isn't Tech. It's Just Connecting the Dots.

And once someone shows you how the dots connect — you'll wonder why you were ever afraid of it.

Last week we talked about what it would feel like to have your follow-up running while you were actually living your life.

Remember Rhonda? The team member my system welcomed while I was standing in line at Space Mountain?

That wasn't magic. That was an automation much like the new feature inside Project Broadcast called Back Office.

And if those two words just made you want to close this tab — I get it. "Back Office" sounds like something that belongs in a corporate IT department, not in your direct sales business.

But stay with me for just a few minutes.

Because once you see what's actually happening under the hood, I promise you're going to go:

Wait. That's it?

Everything Feels Hard Until It Doesn't

Direct sales consultant looking at her phone feeling overwhelmed by tech

You've been spinning plates for a long time, friend.

Family. Home. Maybe a full-time job on top of it all. A little self-care (I hope!). And then there's the business which, let's be honest, deserves its own moment of recognition.

Because you're not "just" a consultant.

You're the CEO, the CFO, the sales team, the social media marketer, the copywriter, the graphic designer, the customer service department, and the follow-up team.

All. By. Yourself.

(Put that on a resume!)

So when someone introduces something new — a new platform, a new system, a new feature with a name like Back Office — it is completely understandable that your first instinct is:

Not today. I don't have the bandwidth for one more thing.

I hear you. I really do.

But can I say something gently?

If you stay in reactive mode — always putting out fires, never investing in the things with long-term payoff — you're going to stay exactly where you are.

And you didn't start this business to stay stuck.

Do you remember the first time you held a home party?

The nerves. The what-ifs. The running through the script in your head seventeen times before the guests arrived.

And then you did it. And it wasn't nearly as bad as you thought. I mean no one died, right?

How about the first Facebook party? Oh my goodness — all the pieces. Creating the group, the posts, the games, the timing, the links. You probably thought there was no way you'd ever get all of that figured out.

But you did. You figured it out.

And now? You probably do it without thinking twice.

Friend, you are so much smarter and more capable than you give yourself credit for. New things feel hard at first. That's not a you problem. That's just how learning works.

Project Broadcast's Back Office feature is the same.

It feels unfamiliar right now. But it's not complicated. And once you see what's actually happening under the hood — I promise — you're going to go, wait, that's it?

So Let's Talk About What Back Office Actually Is

Because here's where most people get tripped up: they hear "automated system" and picture something technical and mysterious running in the background that they'll never fully understand.

And that fear? It's valid. I've seen it happen.

When I first stepped out of direct sales, I did virtual assistant work — setting up automated customer follow-up systems for consultants. I'd build the whole thing for them. And they loved it.

Until something stopped working.

Because here's what I learned: when someone doesn't understand what's happening behind the scenes, one small change, like their company updating an email subject line, and suddenly the whole thing falls apart and they have no idea why.

Worse? They were letting the automation handle the 80% but completely missing the 20%!  The real, two-way conversations where the actual magic happens. Because to them the automation was the whole story. Spoiler alert: It's not!

I don't want that for you.

I want you to understand exactly what's happening, not so you can become a tech expert, but so you're in control of your own system.

Here's What's Really Happening (It's Simpler Than You Think)

Ready? Let me explain this like I'm talking to your grandma. Not a tech-native fifth grader. (They could probably out-explain tech to all of us!) Your grandma.

When a customer places an order on your website, your company sends you an email confirmation. You've seen it a hundred times. Hey, [Your Name] You Have a New Order!

That email has information in it. The customer's name. Their phone number. The order details.

Project Broadcast's Back Office feature does one thing: it reads that email and passes the information over to Project Broadcast.

That's it.

Project Broadcast receives the info, creates the contact, and triggers your follow-up campaign — the one you already wrote, in your own voice, exactly the way you want it to sound.

You're not coding anything.
You're not building anything complicated.
You're just connecting something that already exists, that order confirmation email, to something you're already using — Project Broadcast.

Think of it like setting up a coffee maker the night before. You're not making the coffee in the moment. You just did the setup work once, and now it runs every morning without you standing there waiting.

That's Project Broadcast's Back Office feature.

But Here's the Part That Really Matters

The automation isn't the magic.

You are the magic.

The messages in your follow-up campaign? You wrote those. Your voice. Your warmth. Your personality coming through in every word.

You choose the timeline, when each message goes out, what it says, how it sounds.

You decide the flow.

And then, once it's dialed in, you hand the starting-of-conversations over to the system, so you can show up fully for the having of them.

Because that's the 20% that only you can do.

The replies. The real conversations. The customer who texts back and says I love my new necklace or actually, my wishlist is kinda long. That moment? That's yours. And you can be fully present for it because you're not buried in the logistics of who to text and when.

Automation doesn't take you out of the equation, friend.

It puts you at the center of it.

You Can Learn This. I Promise.

I know what you might be thinking.

This still sounds a little scary. What if I can't figure it out?

Here's what I know after years of teaching systems to direct sellers just like you:

The ones who said "I'm not techy enough" are the ones running the smoothest businesses today.

Not because they suddenly became tech experts. Because someone walked them through it in plain language, step by step, until it clicked.

And once it clicked? They owned it. They understood it. And when something needed adjusting, they knew exactly what to do.

That's what I want for you.

When we know better, we do better. And you, my friend, are closer to knowing this than you think.

If you want to be the first to know when we do this again, get on my list. That's where I share everything first.

This week's question: What's one thing in your business that felt impossible at first — until someone just showed you how? That's exactly what this is.
